It's now time to come out to the LCRA CONTESTED CASE HEARING, Bastrop Convention Center, Bastrop, TX
October 15-22, 10:00 a.m. (unless further notified of earlier start time)
PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT YOUR NEIGHBORS WHO WANT TO PROTECT YOUR WATER AND YOUR PROPERTY RIGHTS!
The map above depicts only the drawdowns
which are projected by the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District to occur in the Simsboro under Bastrop and Lee counties if the Lower Colorado River Authority pumps for over 50 years under the permit LCRA is seeking.
LCRA will have pumped over 407 billion gallons from under Bastrop and Lee counties during that 50-year period.
If granted, this permit will add to the drawdowns of other planned projects in our counties, as well as in Burleson and Milam counties, when they come online. If those projects permitted as of 2019 pump their full permitted amounts, an additional 47 billion gallons per year will be permanently removed from our local aquifer.
To see the map of projected 50-year drawdowns for those projects, go to our "About Us" page to see what's at stake.
VISTA RIDGE IS ONE OF THOSE PROJECTS and will begin pumping in April 2020 ~~~ Visit our new Vista Ridge Project page for important news on this project you must not miss if you live in Burleson or Milam counties, and go to our NEWS PAGE for the blog dated September 18 on the subject of Vista Ridge.
