• Project-specific 50-year drawdown (in feet) in the Simsboro Aquifer attributable to the proposed LCRA pumpage, estimated using the state-approved Gtroundwater Availability Model and prepared by the consulting hydrologist to the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District.

URGENT!: Click here to read the article about why we all need to urge the Governor to veto this dangerous precedent-setting water legislation -- House Bill 1806 ---

Gov. Abbott has until June 16 to either sign or veto

Please call 512.463.2000 and ask him to veto HB 1806 or send him a message here:

The map above depicts the drawdowns in the Simsboro formation of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer which are projected by the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District to occur in Bastrop and Lee counties over 50 years of pumping under the

    25,000 acre-feet/year (8 billion gallons/year) permit

the Lower Colorado River Authority is seeking.

The mighty Simsboro is under siege -- this map depicts only the LCRA project drawdowns -- if granted, this permit will add to the drawdowns of other existing permits in the region totaling another 145,000+ acre-feet/year. To see those projected drawdowns on another map, go to our "About Us" page to see what's at stake.
